Welcome to Mardyke Valley Golf Club
Mardyke Valley Golf Club is a new and exciting 18 hole Parkland Course with undulating fairways, challenging holes and stunning Lakeland views. The course is among the most picturesque in the County, encompassing a number of environmentally protected areas with a wide range of wild life and flora.
A wealth of mixed specimen trees, both young and mature, add dimension and character to the course; streams and lakes lead down to the River Mardyke.
Standing in 140 glorious acres, this par 70 course is gaining a fine reputation. The contours of the valley ensure that golfers' skills are tested to the full.
Set in the grounds of historic Ford Place, our signature hole is the 'Watery Grave', possibly one of the most charming holes in Essex!
We have recently had the pro shop extended and refurbished and will be looking to stock it with a wider range of golf clothing and equipment to include a competively priced Ladies range.
Our current clubhouse facilities include a comfortable and friendly bar and restaurant. The varied menu ranges from a full hearty breakfast and light snacks to a choice of home style cooking.
“Come for a drink and a meal and in no time you'll be making new friends and joining in with our regular social evenings and events”
The south facing terrace overlooks the putting green, providing seating and tables for al fresco dining, or a well deserved glass of something cold.
Frequent evening events are held throughout the year, including casino nights, and barbecues in the Summer.
The plans for the new clubhouse are now well under way. The two storey building will be constructed behind the existing clubhouse and incorporate a south facing balcony at first floor level and gymnasium below. The style will be in keeping with an Essex barn with a slate roof and dark timber body.
Matt-our-pro has been with us since 1995 and is well qualified to coach players at all levels and abilities. Having represented the UK at 16, he turned pro at 18 & completed his P.G.A training in 1994.
Our course Manager maintains well presented greens and groomed fairways. He is assisted by a team of five dedicated green-keepers and a myriad of equipment.
A modern irrigation system and exceptional drainage, contribute to year round enjoyment of the whole course.
Our membership profile is very mixed with high and low handicappers. Beginners needn't feel intimidated as we actively encourage novices.
Once becoming a member you will immediately feel at home, whether on the course or in the clubhouse, as we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere. The Senior section is extremely active, playing twice a week, and our keen junior members enjoy special low fees.
