Meet the Team

Dave Webster - Director  01708 855011

Dave joined the club as the Head Greenkeeper in 2005 when the course was nine holes and was made Director of Mardyke in 2015.

All his work together with that of his green keeping team have seen the course progress into a very popular and successful 18 holes.

Dave oversees the purchase of new machinery and the appointment of new staff, whilst ensuring new additions to the course are added annually such as new tees, bunkers and trees to enhance and improve the course on an ongoing basis.

Matt Reid - Club Professional  01708 855011

Born and raised in south Essex, Matt started playing golf at the age of 12 as a junior member of a local golf club. By the time he was 16 he was already junior captain at Warley Park playing off of a handicap of 1.

He went on to represent Essex in county tournaments for 2 years before turning pro at 18.

Matt’s first job was working in a pro shop near Brentwood where he completed his PGA training before moving to Mardyke Valley Golf Club in 1995 where he’s been our head professional ever since.

Having competed on the East region PGA Tour for several years, Matt is well qualified to coach golfers of all levels and abilities.

George Banks - Clubhouse Manager  01708 855011

George started at Mardyke Valley in March 2016, having previously worked as a Food and Beverage Director in Papua New Guinea for 2 years, a pub Manager in Western Australia for a number of years and a pre school English teacher in India.  George's role within the club is to provide a safe, clean environment for members and guests to enjoy, and to oversee the day to day operations, ensuring  the clubhouse and its facilities run smoothly.

Of course the Club wouldn't be the same without the services of our other clubhouse staff keeping your food freshly prepared, tea and coffee nice and hot, Beer and Pimms refreshingly cold.

Along with George running the clubhouse, Karen Pardon is the Kitchen Manager, assisted by Jan Bevan and Stephanie Thompson. Carol Brockelbank and Sasha Anderson are both front of house, with Emily Irvine and Kirsty Carrington helping out at weekends and with functions.  Mike and Denis are the Course Marshalls, Denis having been a member since the course opened in 2003 and later becoming course marshall in 2008.
